The black North Carolina JL 327 License Plate is produced as seen on the Mayberry Squad Car in the 1960s television series The Andy Griffith Show. The Squad Car was Mayberry’s only police authorized vehicle (aside from the short time Barney had a motorcycle). A new squad car was provided each season since the show was sponsored by Ford; but with a few early exceptions, the license plate number was always JL 327.
